#Thailand#Nonthaburi#Pak Kret#Attraction Located on the west side of the Chao Phraya River, Village No. 8, Tha It Subdistrict, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Area of 16 Rai, was built during the Central Ayutthaya period. But there is no clear evidence of its creation. It is assumed that it was built along with Wat Thai Ao and Wat Choeng Tha which is located on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River
Later, the Royal Irrigation Department moved some units from Samsen Subdistrict, Dusit District, Bangkok, to Pak Kret District and Mueang District. The authorities therefore expropriated the land from the part adjacent to Tiwanon Road on the west side to the Chao Phraya River.
Wat Thai Ao and Wat Choeng Tha in the area of the land expropriation of the Royal Irrigation Department consisted of no monks and novices; the Department of Religious Affairs therefore announced the cancellation of Wat Tai Ao and Wat Choeng Tha.
But for this temple, there are still permanent structures in good condition; hence the Fine Arts Department has registered it as an ancient monument. But, Wat Choeng Tha has gradually deteriorated over time and now only ruins remain.
On the other hand, Wat Cherng Lane still has monks, with the Numthai family as patrons. Later, they were given a new surname by the royal family as "Netilaksanavijarn" until the reign of the monks who served as the abbot of Wat Choeng Lane
